Bicycle Accidents in New Jersey

Newark, NJ - Cyclist Struck, Injured by Driver Near Bergen St and Madison Ave

Bicycling is a fun pastime for New Jersey residents of all ages. Bicycles are a fairly inexpensive and convenient method of transportation. Riding a bicycle also has the added benefits of being good exercise and creating numerous recreational opportunities.

New Jersey has one of the highest bicycle crash rates in the United States. The leading causes of bicycle accidents across the state are driver distraction, disregard for traffic signals and street signs, and failure to yield the right of way.

These violations allow a rider who is badly injured or the surviving family members of a cyclist killed in an accident to file a suit against the negligent driver.
