Newark, NJ (April 25, 2023) – An auto collision happened on a roadway in Newark that prompted an emergency dispatch and blocked traffic. The incident took place on Tuesday morning, April 25.

At approximately 5:09 a.m., at least one person was hurt in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike – Western Spur southbound just north of US 1 & 9 in Newark, according to information provided by the New Jersey Department of Transportation. 

Two left lanes of the Turnpike were blocked while emergency responders worked to secure the scene. Authorities in Newark are still investigating the circumstances of the incident.
