Newark, NJ – Jose Murillo Dead, Four Injured in Crash on Broad St near Pennington St
Newark, NJ (August 15, 2023) – A car accident in Newark took the life of one person and left four others with injuries on Tuesday morning, August 15. According to information provided by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the two-vehicle crash occurred at around 4:20 a.m.
Sources say the incident occurred at the intersection of Broad Street near Pennington Street. The driver of one of the involved vehicles was identified as 34-year-old Jose Murillo of Elizabeth. He was pronounced deceased on-site.
The other driver and three passengers were transported to a local medical center and treated for injuries they sustained in the collision, authorities said. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Crime Scene Investigations Bureau is investigating the accident.
Police in Newark continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
