Newark, NJ (August 3, 2021) – A serious traffic collision was reported in Downtown Newark that left two people injured on Thursday morning. At around 2:35 a.m., on July 29, emergency crews were notified that a motor vehicle accident occurred on West Kinney Street.

Reports from local authorities show that a police car was traveling in the area of East Kinney Street and West Kinney Street when it was t-boned by another vehicle.

The incident left the officers’ vehicle with significant damage. Two officers inside the patrol vehicle at the time of the crash were injured. Both victims were transported to area hospitals for further care. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
