One Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-195 in Jackson Twp., NJ

Jackson Township, NJ (August 27, 2026) – At least one person died and several others were injured on Wednesday night, August 26, in a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 195 eastbound near mile marker 22.6.

New Jersey State Police and emergency units rushed to the scene and found multiple vehicles involved, including one that overturned and trapped a person inside.

Crews worked to reach the trapped person, who was reported to be critically hurt. Access to the wreckage was reported to be difficult given the extent of the damage. Further details about the wreck were not immediately available.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
