Orange, NJ (November 28, 2025) – Fire crews battled a house fire in the City of Orange. The blaze happened at a home located at 660 Mosswood Avenue. The fire was put out at 6:45 p.m.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed two deaths at the scene. Officials have not released the victims’ identities. Investigators want to notify family members first. Flames broke through the second floor on the right side of the home. Several departments responded to help, including teams from Montclair and West Orange.
Neighbors described a sudden and frightening fire. One resident said the flames rose fast and lit up the sky. Another called the situation heartbreaking, especially on a holiday.
