New Jersey Car Crashes
Car crashes happen constantly in the United States and throughout the state of New Jersey. Surprisingly, over 17,000 auto collisions happen across the nation daily, causing approximately 7,500 people to sustain injuries and taking the lives of over 100. A lot of crashes occur due to inclement weather and vehicle problems. However, most of the auto accidents reported in the United States can be attributed to driver negligence. Negligent driving, especially in the past ten years, has become a problematic issue in the US and throughout the state of New Jersey. It was recently reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Association that more than 90% of reported auto collisions in the United States are caused by negligent drivers.
So many different forms of negligent driving exist, however, the most prevalent among American drivers include fatigue, intoxication, distraction, and speeding. Drivers who allow themselves to become distracted while behind the wheel cause over 400,000 auto collisions per year. Sadly, these crashes end the lives of around 3,000 people annually. Also, fatigued driving is behind over 100,000 vehicle accidents every year and speeding causes approximately 11,000 annual deaths. Sadly, the majority of injurious and deadly crashes in the United States are preventable and caused by drivers who are careless, reckless, and otherwise negligent.
