Philipstown, NY (November 15, 2023) – A drunk driver has been arrested after a head-on crash that took the life of a 52-year-old man and hurt a seven-year-old passenger. The fatal collision took place on Route 9 on Saturday, November 11 at around 9:45 p.m.
The man who caused the accident was charged with felony vehicular manslaughter and misdemeanor DWI. At this time, the circumstances of the incident have not been reported to the public, as police in Philipstown continue to investigate.
Route 9 was closed for some time on Saturday night while emergency responders worked in the area, forcing local drivers to find alternate routes of travel. Police directed traffic away from the scene in an effort to protect the safety of emergency crews at the scene.
