Port Jervis, NY (September 27, 2019) – A train crash near York Ave left one victim deceased.
On September 24, at approximately 8 p.m., emergency crews responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on York Ave.
According to reports, John Erick Evans was traveling along York Ave near the intersection of Pennsylvania Ave when he was struck by a westbound Metro-North train.
Evans sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation by the Port Jervis City and Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Departments.
