Queens, N.Y. – Elderly Woman Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle Near 63rd AvenueRobert A. Solomon, P.C.
Queens, N.Y. (February 6, 2019) – An elderly woman has died after she and her husband were hit by a vehicle, according to officials Wednesday evening. The deadly New York pedestrian accident occurred in Queens around 6 p.m. near the Challenge Playground in Little Neck near 251st Street and 63rd Avenue.
The victims, 80-year-old Xui Pu Xi and her 84-year-old husband, were crossing the street when a Honda, being driven by a 42-year-old woman, hit them while making a turn onto 251stStreet. The victims were walking home at the time of the accident, being less than two blocks away when they were hit.
The couple was taken to North Shore University Hospital where the victim’s husband was treated for a leg injury and was released while Xi was evaluated by doctors who determined they could not save her. Xi succumbed to her injuries and passed away. The driver of the Honda was taken to an area hospital for evaluation, according to officials.
An investigation is ongoing with no charges being filed at the time of this posting.
