Vehicle Accidents in New York

Queens, NY - Cross Island Parkway Scene of Injury Accident near Hillside AveMillions of car crashes happen in the United States each year. In one recent year, more than 6 million car wrecks were reported, which injured more than 3 million individuals. In New York, hundreds of thousands of car accidents are reported annually that cause tens of thousands of people to sustain injuries and thousands to lose their lives. Car crashes have become one of the leading causes of death among Americans ages 15-20 in the past decade, mostly due to negligent driving.

Regrettably, most of the car crashes reported in the United States are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. Throughout the past ten years, negligent driving has become more and more common throughout the country. The number of accidents that happen due to the actions of careless and reckless motorists continues to rise, injuring and taking the lives of countless individuals. Drivers think it’s ok to text, groom, eat, and apply makeup while operating their vehicles. This is never, ever safe and almost always results in a traffic collision. Sadly, approximately 50% of auto accidents in the US cause at least one person to sustain injuries.

Depending on the cause of an accident, one or more people may be held responsible for the resulting damages. Those who responsibly conduct themselves while driving don’t usually have to worry about being held liable for collisions; however, those who act negligently usually have to pay fines and even spend time in jail when accidents happen due to their behavior.

In 2015, there was an 11% increase in the number of auto accidents in America. While the population in the US continues to grow, so does the number of auto collisions, as well as the number of angry, inattentive, careless, and inexperienced drivers on the roadways. Additionally, overcrowded roadways are a contributing factor to the increased rate of car crashes seen in the US.
