Queens, NY – Driver Goes Off-Road, Injures Woman at St. John Cemetery near Cooper Ave
Queens, NY (June 20, 2023) – A driver left the roadway in their vehicle and crashed through a fence at St. John Cemetery on Monday, critically injuring a woman. The wreck occurred at around 8:30 a.m., reports read.
Emergency crews went to the scene near Cooper Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue. The vehicle was identified as a Hyundai that crashed through the cemetery fence before it struck a tree.
A woman, age 65, was trapped under the vehicle and had to be extricated by responders, sources said. She remains in critical condition at Jamaica Hospital.
Authorities in Queens continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
