Queens, NY – Drunk Driver Causes Fatal Accident on 117th St near 111th Ave
Queens, NY (June 12, 2023) – A drunk driver was charged with manslaughter after a traffic collision that killed two people in Queens on Tuesday, June 6. The intoxicated driver was identified as 22-year-old Tamir Khan.
Khan was driving a 2013 Audi A4 headed north on 117th Street in South Ozone Park on Monday morning when he collided with a Toyota Camry headed west on 111th Avenue. The wreck was reported at around 4:25 a.m.
The Camry was sent careening into a wooden pole, taking the life of John Inderdeo, age 64. Inderdeo was transported from the scene to a local hospital, where he lost his life.
A front-seat passenger present in the vehicle, identified as Charles Harris, 71, lost his life on Tuesday morning due to the injuries he sustained in the accident.
After the fatal accident, Khan kept driving and struck two unoccupied vehicles, reports read. When police arrested him, his blood alcohol content was way above the legal limit. He received several different charges in relation to the crash, including driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.
