Queens, NY (July 15, 2022) – Multiple people sustained injuries during a pair of multi-vehicle collisions on the Grand Central Parkway on Friday, July 15th in Queens.
The first crash took place in the eastbound lanes near the exit for Jewel Avenue at about 6:00 a.m. when four vehicles collided causing one of the involved cars to strike the center divider and throw detritus across the westbound lanes, leading to a separate accident.
One piece of flying debris pierced the windshield of an oncoming vehicle.
A total of seven vehicles were involved in the collisions on both sides of the parkway.
A total of four people sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
All lanes of the parkway were closed down between the Long Island Expressway and Kew Gardens as emergency responders aided the injured and crews worked to clear the roadway.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
