Vehicle Collisions in New York
Just a few years ago, a safety study was performed on motorized bikes (motorcycles, mopeds, etc.) in New York. The study looked all-inclusively at safety data from across the state. The Department of Transportation collected the data used in the report, which showed that the state had witnessed the smallest number of motorized bike fatalities since 1998.
Accidents are statistically more likely to happen in the afternoon and evening, with weekends being the days with the highest fatality rates. The rate of fatal accidents also rose substantially during the summer months.
The report’s contributors also noticed some clear risk factors where fatal crashes were concerned:
- Licensed drivers: 43% of deaths involved an unlicensed operator
- Age: Roughly 56% of those killed were 35-years-old or younger
- Sex: Nearly 100% of those who died in motorized bike accidents were male
Every motorized bike accident claim is different, but your New York accident attorney will know the most reliable and efficient ways to help you establish negligence and collect the maximum amount of financial compensation.
