The highly-regarded school bus injury lawyers at Metro Law have the resources and experience necessary to thoroughly investigate the cause of a school bus accident and build a solid personal injury claim that centers around your rights and needs.

Numerous factors can play a role in a school bus crash, including:

  • Distracted, fatigued, or drunk drivers
  • Inadequately trained or reckless bus operators
  • Failure to repair or insufficient maintenance on the bus
  • Dangerous or defective parts
  • Inclement weather conditions
  • Inadequate road signage, malfunctioning stoplights, or poorly maintained roadways

An exhaustive inspection of the events surrounding the incident will help decide if liability is placed on the driver of another vehicle, a parts manufacturer, a government entity, the school bus operator themselves, or another party altogether.

School bus accidents are often quite serious due to the large number of passengers they have onboard in addition to a lack of any of the modern safety features that come in almost all passenger vehicles.

Common injuries sustained by people involved in school bus crashes include:

  • Trauma to the head
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Damage to the spinal cord
  • Injuries to the back and neck
  • Fractured or broken bones
  • Internal organ damage or bleeding
  • Lacerations and contusions
  • Severe burns
  • Emotional distress

After a serious school bus collision, victims could be hospitalized for several weeks or even several months while they convalesce from their crash-related injuries. The financial, physical, and psychological effects of any motor vehicle accident are usually cumulative.

Those injured in school bus collisions often require continuing medical treatments that are prohibitively expensive and will place their family under financial duress.
