Robbinsville Twp, NJ (April 22, 2024) – A man from Pennsylvania was killed in a traffic accident that happened in Robbinsville. Reports show the wreck occurred at around 2:17 a.m. near milepost 64.1 on the New Jersey Turnpike. A sequence of collisions began with two BMWs, a 428i and an X3, broke down after crashing into one another. The incident escalated when a third BMW, a 328i that was headed south, crashed into the disabled 428i. The driver of the 328i was able to park the vehicle on the right shoulder and exit where he stood near the roadway. A Hyundai passenger vehicle headed south struck the disabled 428i, and then the pedestrian, who was identified as Alton Smith, 30, of Levittown, PA. Smith was fatally injured in the crash. The Hyundai’s driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. At this time, police in Robbinsville continue to investigate.
