Rome, N.Y. – Two Injured in Tractor-Trailer Accident on Route 365

Rome, N.Y. (February 22, 2019) – Two people were injured following a vehicle accident Friday afternoon, according to the Oneida County sheriff’s deputies. The New York vehicle accident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Route 365 at the South James Street intersection.

The accident began when 48-year-old Muhammad Maudarbocus of New Jersey, who was driving a tractor-trailer in the westbound lanes of Route 365, collided with an SUV at the aforementioned intersection. The SUV was being driven by 79-year-old Elizabeth Monroe of Rome, and had a passenger, 68-year-old Barbara Lamphear of Rome. Both women were taken to the St. Elizabeth Campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System to be evaluated for injuries following the accident. The condition of the women are unknown at the time of this article’s posting.

Authorities issued Maudarbocus a ticket for failing to stop at a red light following the accident.
