Sayreville, NJ – Two Hospitalized After Accident on Garden State PkyNY/NJ Legal News
Sayreville, NJ (February 08, 2022) – Two people were injured in an accident on the Garden State Parkway in Central Jersey on Tuesday, February 8th.
New Jersey State Police were dispatched at about 12:55 p.m. to the northbound lanes of the parkway to investigate a crash near mile marker 126.7 in Sayreville.
An investigation revealed that the driver of a Honda Accord lost control of the vehicle and struck the center concrete barrier.
Upon their arrival, troopers found the driver and a passenger had sustained non-critical injuries.
One of the victims was transported to Perth Amboy Hospital while Emergency Medical Services took the second victim to Robert Wood University Medical Center.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Passenger Injuries in New Jersey
It is not uncommon for the person liable for the accident to be the driver of the car in which you were riding. For instance, the driver may be a child, parent, spouse, or another relative of the injured passenger. The victim could also be a colleague or a friend. As long as the two parties are not on the same insurance policy, the claim is valid.
Filing a claim of personal injury against a relative or a friend might be uncomfortable but passengers are entitled to seek economic recovery when their injuries were caused by someone’s negligence. In the majority of cases, the negligent driver’s insurance will cover the damages.
If you sustained injuries as a passenger during a car accident, you are entitled to pursue financial compensation for your medical costs and other damages just as an injured driver would be. This is true no matter the cause of your accident, whether it was driver negligence, vehicle defect, or a road hazard.
