Scotch Plains, NJ – 16-Year-Old Killed in Car Crash on Rt 22

Scotch Plains, NJ (December 28, 2023) – A 16-year-old lost his life in a collision in Scotch Plains. The crash occurred just after 6:00 a.m. on Route 22 on December 25. Reports show that the 2018 Nissan Rogue he was a passenger in was in the westbound lanes when it struck a utility pole. The teen’s parents, identified as a 39-year-old mother and 41-year-old father, both of North Plainfield, were transported to University Hospital to be treated for injuries they sustained in the crash. The teenager was pronounced deceased on-site.
