Tractor-Trailer Accidents in New Jersey
In New Jersey, tractor-trailers and smaller vehicles share the roadways daily. Being involved in an accident with one of these oversized vehicles, however, is quite different from a typical car accident. A collision with even a larger passenger vehicle, such as an SUV, can end with serious or even deadly injuries. The immense weight and size of a tractor-trailer, coupled with untrained or fatigued drivers, can easily result in a devastating accident.
It is reasonable that victims think their insurance company will take care of them, and why not? After all, you earnestly make your monthly premium payments and make sure that you uphold your end of the bargain. You thought that, if you ever needed financial assistance due to any kind of accident, they would step in and do their job.
Sadly, this is not normally the case. It’s important to keep in mind that insurance companies are for-profit companies and giving you a bunch of money, whether you are entitled to it or not, is not in the best interest of their bottom line. Their goal is to turn a profit and the equation they use to do that is a simple one: Collect as much money as possible via premiums, and pay as little as possible in claims.
