South Hackensack, NJ – Two Sent to Hospital After DWI Collision on US-46 near Phillips Ave
South Hackensack, NJ (February 15, 2023) – Two people were sent to the hospital early Tuesday, February 14, due to a two-car accident in South Hackensack. Police responded to the crash scene at approximately 12:30 a.m.
Authorities report a man from West New York was driving a 2010 Honda Accord when he crashed into a 2022 Volkswagen SUV. When police arrived at the scene, they found both vehicles with significant damage.
Emergency crews treated and transported the VW’s driver, identified as a 64-year-old man from Elmwood park, to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries. The man from West New York was also transported to HUMC with a large laceration on his head.
Police say he was then arrested and charged with DWI, reckless driving, open container, and eight other summonses involving a motor vehicle. The names of those involved have not been reported at this time.
