Southeast, N.Y. – Two Vehicle Accident Shuts Down Interstate 84

Southeast, N.Y. (July 17, 2019) – A two vehicle accident caused part of a highway to shut down and injured several people in the middle of the week, according to authorities. The New York vehicle accident occurred on Wednesday morning on Interstate 84, one mile east of Route 312.

There is not much information regarding this accident at the time of this article’s posting. The accident involved two vehicles, which caused both westbound lanes to shut down following the accident. Pictures from the accident show two vehicles that are severely damaged, with one vehicle having a collapsed back end and passenger side damage, while the second vehicle is on its side with a heavily damaged front. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, though the extent of their injuries is unknown at the time of this posting.

Following the accident, a tanker-truck on the westbound side also went off the side of the road due to the backup of traffic caused by the original accident. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

Police are still investigating the original accident.
