Speeding Driver Causes Pileup on Rte 46 in Teterboro, NJ

Teterboro, NJ (September 1, 2026) – Three people were hospitalized on Sunday evening, August 30, after a chain-reaction wreck on Route 46 that also left a driver pinned inside his vehicle.

According to witnesses at the scene, the driver of an Infiniti was speeding and driving along the shoulder and median before striking a Cadillac Escalade near Huyler Street around 6 p.m. The impact reportedly pushed the Escalade into a Maserati. 

Hasbrouck Heights, Little Ferry and South Hackensack firefighters were sent to assist at the scene. Crews worked to free the Infiniti's driver, who was reportedly pinned inside the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital along with two other people involved. 

The full extent of the severity of the injuries has not been released. 

The wreck remains under active investigation.
