Stony Point, NY – Three Injured in Auto Accident on N Liberty Dr
Stony Point, NY (March 28, 2023) – One person was seriously injured in a car accident reported Thursday, March 23. The incident involved three vehicles and one pedestrian, according to information provided by local officials.
Police were notified of the incident at around 11:14 a.m. Sources say the crash occurred in the 100 block of North Liberty Drive. An 82-year-old man was severely injured at the scene. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center by Stony Point Volunteer Ambulance Corps in critical condition.
Two other people also sustained injuries in the accident. They were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital by Stony Point Ambulance Corps. One other person refused transportation to the hospital.
The pedestrian involved also refused medical care at the scene. Authorities state a 2021 Mercedes was headed south on North Liberty Drive when it left the roadway and hit a pedestrian, over-corrected back onto the road, and struck a box truck that was headed north.
Police continue to investigate the details of the crash.
