Negligent Drivers in New Jersey

Trenton, NJ - Paramedic Unit Involved in Collision at Prospect St and Bellevue Ave

If it is determined that the driver who caused your injuries is guilty of negligent driving, referred to as negligence per se, then a jury only has to consider if that negligence was the cause of your injuries and how much recovery is needed to make you whole.

In legal terms, making someone whole means they have been fully compensated for all of their damages.

As an injured victim, you may be entitled to collect damages for your:

  • Medical care
  • Disabilities, restrictions, and permanent injuries
  • Pain and suffering
  • Lost income
  • Repairs to your vehicle
  • Spousal claims

Negligent drivers are one of the leading causes of New Jersey auto accidents that end in serious personal injury. Whether it’s a driver who is speeding, texting, or simply not following traffic laws, their blatant indifference toward others often leads to collisions that could have been avoided.

In fact, negligent drivers are so common in New Jersey, the state even has specific laws regarding the offense.
