Try these running safety tips in the near futureRobert A. Solomon, P.C.
Running is a great way to stay in shape while spending time outdoors. Unfortunately, it can also be dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing or stop paying attention to your surroundings.
First things first, no matter how tempted you may be, don’t run with earphones on. When you do this, you are unable to hear what is going on around you. For example, it will make it impossible to hear if a car is closing in behind you.
Here is something else to consider: You should always run against traffic. While this is not always possible, it is something you should be able to do most of the time. With this strategy, you can always see what is going on in front of you. As a result, you are able to prevent an accident that could cause serious harm.
Finally, you should consider your route. Are you able to take a route that keeps you off of major roadways? Is there a route that allows you to use sidewalks during your entire run? Answer these questions to help you find the safest possible New Jersey route.
With these running safety tips guiding you, it is easier to stay safe every time you hit the pavement.
Even though you do your best to avoid trouble, don’t assume that everybody else is doing the same. For example, some drivers don’t care to watch out for people who are running or biking. As a result, they could drive in close proximity to you, thus increasing the chance of a serious accident.
