Pedestrian Crashes in New Jersey
Pedestrian collisions occur all too often in the Garden State. Yearly, hundreds of people lose their lives in auto accidents in New Jersey. These collisions can take place due to bad weather, vehicle problems, or driver negligence. However, negligent driving is the main reason behind the majority of car crashes in New Jersey and throughout the entire United States. The CDC reports that car accidents are the main contributor to American fatalities today, which means that, essentially, driver negligence is behind the majority of deaths in the country. Drivers who are distracted, intoxicated, and fatigued, as well as speeding, place their own lives and the lives of many others at risk.
If someone is killed in a collision caused by driver negligence, the surviving family of the deceased is eligible to collect financial compensation for their losses and damages, including:
- Medical care
- Funeral care
- Burial costs
- Lost income
- Loss of future earning capacity
