UPDATE: Westfield, NJ – John Cregg Killed in Accident on N Scotch Plains AveNY/NJ Legal News
Westfield, NJ (June 10, 2020) – The victim killed in a pedestrian accident on Friday in Westfield has been identified by police.
Just before 1 p.m., on June 5, the New Jersey State Police responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident on West South Avenue. Reports indicate that 87-year-old John Cregg was attempting to cross the roadway at the intersection of North Scotch Plains Avenue and West South Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle.
Cregg was alert and conscious at the scene of the crash. He was rushed to University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, who was identified as 74-year-old James Reid, was ticketed for the incident. At this time, police are continuing their investigations.
