Upper Freehold, NJ – Elanor Reuther Killed, Another Injured in Head-on Collision on Rt 537
Upper Freehold, NJ (September 18, 2023) – A fatal traffic accident happened in Upper Freehold Township on the afternoon of Sunday, September 17. Reports from authorities show that a woman identified as 79-year-old Elanor Reuther lost her life in the collision.
It happened on Route 537 at around 2:50 p.m. when a vehicle crossed over the center line attempting to pass vehicles in front of him when he collided with a vehicle headed the opposite direction.
The driver of that vehicle was identified as Reuther, who lost her life at the scene. The other driver was hospitalized with serious injuries, according to reports.
Police in Upper Freehold continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
