Vineland, NJ – Head-on Collision at Rtes 40 & 54 Leaves Woman Dead, Two Drivers Hurt

Vineland, NJ (June 27, 2023) – According to published reports, a woman from Vineland was killed, and two others were wounded in a collision near Vineland and Buena Vista Township on Saturday, June 24, in Atlantic County.

Vineland-area police officers say that the incident occurred early Saturday morning at the intersection of Route 40 and Route 54. Initial reports indicate that a vehicle heading south on Route 54 was hit by an eastbound driver on Route 40.

A 36-year-old woman from Vineland, traveling as a passenger in the first vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers were also hurt and apparently transferred to a local hospital, though their current conditions are unknown.

State police and Vineland authorities are still looking into the crash but have not provided additional details in the meantime.
