Voorhees, NJ – John Joyce and Sharon Hee Killed in Collision With Steamroller on NJ-73NY/NJ Legal News
Voorhees, NJ (April 18, 2022) – Two people died during a two-vehicle accident on Friday, April 15th in Vorhees Township.
At about 8:55 p.m., officers were dispatched for reports of a motor vehicle collision in a construction zone in the southbound lanes of State Highway 73 near Lakeside Kennel.
According to sources, a 2017 Lexus, driven by 65-year-old John Joyce, a resident of West Berlin, who was accompanied by 62-year-old Sharon Hee, a resident of Cherry Hill, was heading southbound along the highway when it collided with a steamroller operated by road worker 53-year-old Richard Gatchell, a resident of Hammonton.
Voorhees Fire/EMS and Voorhees Police both responded. Medical personnel on the scene pronounced both of the vehicle’s occupants.
Mr. Gatchell was taken by ambulance to Cooper Hospital for immediate medical treatment. He is currently in stable condition.
