Warwick, NY – Truck Wreck with Injuries Reported on I-94 near Warwick Turnpike
Warwick, NY (July 12, 2023) – A truck accident took place on Tuesday that sent one person to an area hospital with significant injuries.
The accident occurred just before 10:00 p.m. on July 11.
Reports provided by the New York State Police show that a 2011 Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling north on Warwick Turnpike when it collided with a 2019 Ford Explorer, which was occupied by a police officer with the Town of Warwick Police Department. The semi-truck then continued forward and crashed into a telephone pole. The incident prompted the police to shut down Warwick Turnpike near Interstate 94.
The driver of the police vehicle, identified as Officer Jordan Tetreault, suffered significant injuries in the accident. She was extricated by firefighters due to the extent of damages done to the vehicle. She was then transported by helicopter to West Chester Medical Center, where she underwent emergency treatment for full-body injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck, identified as 50-year-old Mouhamadou Diallo, was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center by EMS for the treatment of minor injuries.
The accident is being investigated.
