Washington Township, NJ – Driver Killed in Crash with Bus on Fries Mill Rd

Washington Township, NJ (June 20, 2023) – A driver was killed on Tuesday morning, June 20, in Washington Township after she was involved in a traffic collision with an NJ transit bus in Gloucester County. 

Officials went to the scene at approximately 5:00 a.m. near the intersection of Fries Mill Road and Hurffville Cross Keys Road in Washington Township. Initial investigations showed that the woman was driving a 2005 Lexus headed west on Hurffville Cross Keys Road, authorities said. 

As the woman and the bus both entered the intersection, the bus heading south on Fries Mills Road, they were involved in a crash. The woman was transported to Jefferson Hospital, where she later lost her life. 

Authorities have not identified the female driver at this time. The intersection was closed for approximately three hours on Tuesday while emergency crews worked at the scene.
