Wildwood, NJ – 11-Year-Old Seriously Injured in Dog Attack at the Jersey Shore

Wildwood, NJ (August 30, 2019) – A dog attack at the Jersey Shore left a young child seriously injured.

On August 16, an 11-year-old boy from Bridgewater was on a family vacation at the Jersey Shore when things turned serious.

According to reports, the young boy spotted the dog on the shore. The child approached the owner, John Kalin, and asked if he could pet the dog. The dog instantly leaped forward and bit the child on the face.

In an instant, the dog bite resulted in the complete severing of the child’s nose. The owner of the dog ran away from the scene and later returned to turn himself in.

The boy was transported via helicopter to an area hospital where he was provided medical attention for his injuries. The young child is expected to undergo multiple surgeries and therapy due to the trauma from the incident.

The incident remains under investigation.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the young child and his family at this time.
