Wirt, NY (May 9, 2024) – Police in New York report an Allegheny County motorist lost their life on Tuesday, May 7. Reports show the wreck occurred in the town of Wirt at approximately 2:15 p.m. on State Route 275. According to information from police, a 2012 Ford Escape was headed north when it went into the southbound lanes and crashed into a 2024 Hyundai. The driver of the Ford, Michael R. Coats, 48, of Bolivar, lost his life at the scene. No one in the Hyundai sustained any serious injuries. The investigation into the details of the crash continues.
