Bus Crashes in New Jersey

Woodbridge, NJ - Johnson, Kiyanitza Dead; 17 Injured in Violent NJ Tpk Crash That Flipped Megabus

Bus accidents are often quite serious due to the large number of passengers they have onboard combined with a lack of any of the modern safety features that come in almost all passenger vehicles.

Numerous factors can play a role in a bus accident, including:

  • Distracted, fatigued, or drunk drivers
  • Inadequately trained or reckless bus operators
  • Failure to repair or insufficient maintenance on the bus
  • Dangerous or defective parts
  • Inclement weather conditions
  • Inadequate road signage, malfunctioning stoplights, or poorly maintained roadways

An exhaustive inspection of the events surrounding the incident will help decide if liability is placed on the driver of another vehicle, a parts manufacturer, a government entity, the bus operator themselves, or another party altogether.

After a serious bus crash, victims could be hospitalized for several weeks or even several months while they heal from their accident-related injuries.

Common injuries sustained by people involved in bus collisions include:

  • Head trauma
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Neck injuries/Back injuries
  • Broken bones/Fractured bones
  • Internal bleeding/Internal organ damage
  • Contusions/Lacerations
  • Burn injuries
  • Emotional trauma
