Woodhaven, NY (November 10, 2023) – An elderly woman lost her life in a pedestrian accident involving a school bus. The wreck happened at approximately 7:25 a.m. on November 10 in Woodhaven. 

The woman was identified as 73-year-old Maria Rodriguez who was struck at the corner of 107th Avenue and 86th Street. At this time, the exact circumstances of the wreck are still being investigated by area authorities.

Paramedics, despite lifesaving efforts, pronounced Maria deceased at the scene of the accident.

Sources say no one on the bus sustained any injuries. The bus driver is being charged in connection with the crash as police continue their investigations into the details of the crash.
