Edison, NJ (August 18, 2025) – A motorcyclist tragically lost his life following a crash early Sunday morning, August 17, on the New Jersey Turnpike.
New Jersey State Police police reported that the collision occurred at 3:56 a.m. on the south outer roadway near milepost 84.6. According to investigators, a GMC cargo van was traveling south when a Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling in the same direction collided with the vehicle.
The impact caused the motorcyclist, a 39-year-old man from Pennsylvania, to be ejected from his bike. Despite the quick response of emergency crews, the rider sustained fatal injuries. Authorities are withholding his identity until family members have been notified.
Troopers closed portions of the roadway for several hours while they investigated the scene. Officials continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash and have not released further details.
