Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in New York

Fatal Pedestrian Crash at Major Deegan Expy & Mosholu Pkwy

Wrongful death accidents in New York City leave families devastated, both emotionally and financially. In a city with heavy traffic and countless pedestrians, tragic incidents like this remind us of the dangers people face every day.

When a driver strikes and kills a pedestrian, the family of the victim may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim. This type of legal action can provide compensation for a variety of damages, such as:

  • Medical and funeral expenses – Families often face overwhelming bills for emergency treatment and funeral arrangements. These unexpected costs add financial stress to an already heartbreaking situation.
  • Loss of income and support – If the victim was a financial provider, their sudden loss leaves families struggling to maintain stability. The absence of steady income can affect housing, education, and daily living expenses.
  • Loss of companionship – Beyond finances, families endure immense emotional pain from losing a loved one’s presence and guidance. This loss can impact children, spouses, and extended family members for years to come.
  • Pain and suffering – The mental and emotional anguish after a wrongful death is profound and deserves recognition in court. Families may experience long-term grief that affects their overall well-being.

Hiring an experienced wrongful death attorney can make a significant difference. An attorney investigates the crash, collects evidence, and builds a strong case to hold negligent parties accountable. Without legal guidance, families often face challenges against insurance companies and defense teams.
