Car Accidents in New Jersey

Three Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Crash at Madison Hill Rd & Raritan Rd

Car accidents at busy intersections are not uncommon in suburban areas in New Jersey. These collisions often occur during morning or evening rush hours when traffic congestion and driver distraction are at their peak.

There are several possible reasons why car accidents like this one happen, including:

  • Distracted driving: Drivers using cell phones, adjusting navigation systems, or eating behind the wheel may miss changing traffic signals or nearby vehicles.
  • Speeding: Traveling above the posted limit reduces reaction time and increases the severity of impact when a crash occurs.
  • Failure to yield: Many multi-vehicle accidents at intersections result from drivers who ignore right-of-way rules or rush through yellow lights.
  • Impaired driving: Alcohol, drugs, or fatigue can significantly impair a driver’s coordination and judgment, leading to serious collisions.
  • Poor weather or road conditions: Rain, fog, or slick surfaces can cause vehicles to skid or lose control, especially at intersections with heavy traffic.

Understanding these causes can help drivers stay alert and reduce the risk of crashes on local roads. However, when accidents do occur, victims often face medical bills, vehicle repairs, and time away from work—all while trying to recover physically and emotionally.
