Bus Accidents in New JerseyBus Collision With Injuries at Norfolk St & S Orange Ave

Bus accidents often leave victims facing painful injuries and long recovery periods. New Jersey sees thousands of daily commuters, students, and workers who rely on buses to move around the city. When a crash happens in a high-traffic area like University Heights, the impacts can be severe because buses carry more passengers and create greater force during a collision.

Accidents at busy intersections can happen for many reasons, including heavy traffic, limited visibility, speeding, or sudden lane changes. Bus drivers work long hours and navigate crowded streets, which increases the risks during peak travel times. Even a single mistake can lead to a chain reaction that harms multiple people.

Victims involved in a bus crash may experience a wide range of injuries. These injuries can affect daily activities, ability to work, and quality of life. Some of the most common injuries related to bus accidents include:

  • Whiplash and neck pain, which often develop when the head snaps forward during impact and can last weeks or longer.
  • Back injuries, which may include muscle strains or damage to the spine, that make movement painful.
  • Head injuries, ranging from mild concussions to more serious trauma caused by sudden jolts or striking surfaces inside the bus.
  • Broken bones, which happen when passengers collide with seats, handrails, or other passengers.
  • Cuts and bruises, often caused by shattered glass or loose objects.
  • Emotional trauma can affect sleep, concentration, and confidence when returning to public transportation.

These injuries can disrupt daily routines and create long-term challenges. Some victims may need physical therapy, follow-up medical care, or time away from work to heal fully.

Speaking with an experienced New Jersey bus accident lawyer can help victims understand how to protect their rights while they recover. An attorney can gather evidence, handle complex paperwork, and deal with insurance companies on the victim’s behalf.
