Car Accidents in New Jersey1 Injured in Two-Car Crash on 2nd St

Car accidents in New Jersey can cause a wide range of injuries, from minor cuts and bruises to severe trauma requiring long-term care. Even a two-car collision, like the one recently reported, can leave a victim with mounting medical bills and emotional distress. When another driver’s negligence causes harm, injured parties may pursue a personal injury claim to seek financial relief.

Through a personal injury claim, victims may be entitled to compensation for:

  • Medical expenses. This includes emergency treatment, hospital stays, surgeries, medications, and rehabilitation costs. Medical bills often form the largest portion of compensation.
  • Lost income. If injuries prevent victims from working, they can recover wages lost during recovery. In severe cases, claims may also cover reduced future earning ability.
  • Pain and suffering. Beyond financial costs, victims endure physical pain, emotional stress, and a reduced quality of life. Compensation helps acknowledge these struggles.
  • Property damage. Victims may be reimbursed for vehicle repairs or replacement, along with other damaged personal property.
  • Long-term care. In cases of serious injury, ongoing therapy, in-home assistance, or adaptive equipment may be included.
  • Wrongful death damages. If a crash results in a fatality, surviving families may seek funeral expenses, lost financial support, and compensation for their loss.

Every case is different, and the type and amount of compensation depend on the injuries, circumstances, and liability findings. Speaking with a personal injury lawyer can help victims understand their rights and guide them through the claims process.
