Logan Township, NJ – Bus vs Pickup Truck Crash with Injuries at Heron Dr & High Hill Rd

Logan Township, NJ (December 8, 2025) – Three people suffered injuries during a collision between a bus and a pickup truck in Logan Township on Friday, November 5. The crash happened around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Heron Drive and High Hill Road, according to Logan Township Police.

Officers said a pickup truck traveling west on High Hill Road struck the passenger side of a South Jersey Transportation Authority bus. The bus moved north on Heron Drive when the impact occurred. The force of the crash pushed both vehicles off the roadway. They came to rest in a nearby brush.

The bus driver, an 80-year-old man from Cherry Hill, went to the hospital with minor injuries. A 33-year-old passenger from Penns Grove also suffered minor injuries and received hospital care. The pickup truck driver, a 51-year-old man from Woolwich, reported minor injuries as well. Paramedics transported him for treatment.

Police did not report any other injured people at the scene. They have not said if either driver received a citation after the crash. Investigators continue to review what led to the crash.

Our thoughts are with everyone hurt in this collision, and we wish them a full and smooth recovery.

Bus Accidents in New JerseyBus vs Pickup Truck Crash with Injuries at Heron Dr & High Hill Rd

Bus crashes in New Jersey can leave both passengers and other drivers hurt, even at lower speeds. Buses weigh far more than most vehicles, so a side impact can throw people around inside the cabin and cause sudden injuries. Morning routes also bring extra risk because roads fill with commuters, school traffic, and commercial drivers.

Bus collisions often happen for a few clear reasons:

  • Drivers may misjudge a bus’s size and speed while entering an intersection, which can lead to a dangerous side strike.
  • Early morning light and glare can reduce visibility, making it harder to see cross traffic in time.
  • Some drivers rush through stop signs or lights, especially on quieter roads, and they fail to yield.
  • Fatigue can slow reaction time for any driver on the road at dawn.

Even when injuries seem minor, people should watch their symptoms closely. Soft tissue injuries, back strains, and head impacts may take hours to appear. Passengers can also suffer harm because they often sit without seat belts. A sudden hit can cause them to strike seats, rails, or windows.

After a bus crash, insurance claims can get complicated. A public transit bus may involve government agencies, private contractors, or multiple insurers. Witness statements, camera footage, and vehicle data can shape what happens next. That is why a bus accident lawyer can help sort out faults and protect an injured victim’s rights.

Compensation may cover emergency care, follow-up visits, therapy, and future medical needs. It may also include lost wages if someone misses work, plus pain and suffering tied to the recovery. If injuries limit a person’s ability to work long term, a claim may seek support for reduced earning capacity.
