Manhattan, NY (November 11, 2024) – An injury car crash occurred on the evening of November 11 at approximately 7:50 p.m. at the intersection of East 5th Street and 1st Avenue in East Village, Manhattan. The incident, which involved two cars, resulted in multiple injuries. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, providing medical care and transporting the injured to local hospitals.
The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles, with one car striking a nearby pole. Firefighters from the FDNY were called to the scene to assist in extracting the drivers from the wreckage. The collision blocked traffic for a brief period while authorities worked to clear the debris and ensure public safety.
One driver was transported to Bellevue Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other, who sustained more serious injuries, was taken by ambulance to Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital for treatment. Police are currently investigating the incident.
