Hit-and-Run Accidents in New Jersey

1 Killed in Hit-and-Run on Madison Ave

Hit-and-run accidents like the tragic incident abovementioned are devastating, particularly when they result in the loss of life.

These types of accidents often involve reckless drivers who fail to take responsibility for their actions, leaving victims’ families without answers and causing emotional and financial hardship. In many cases, the driver who flees the scene is later caught, but the consequences of their actions still have a lasting impact on the victims’ families.

Hit-and-run accidents can occur for various reasons, including:

  • Driver panic – Some drivers may flee the scene out of fear of facing consequences, such as criminal charges or legal repercussions.
  • Impaired driving – Alcohol or drugs can impair a driver’s judgment and lead them to flee the scene rather than face the consequences of their actions.
  • Lack of insurance or documentation – Drivers without insurance or proper identification may decide to leave the scene to avoid legal and financial trouble.
  • Distraction or recklessness – Distracted drivers may fail to notice pedestrians, leading to accidents, and may leave out of sheer negligence or recklessness.
