
Scotch Plains, NJ (September 25, 2025) – A tragic accident in Scotch Plains claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy on Wednesday, September 24. The teen was riding an e-bike when he collided with a landscaping truck at the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Mountainview Avenue just after 2:00 p.m.
Police reported that the teenager suffered critical injuries in the crash. Emergency responders rushed him to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he died from his injuries. Authorities have not released his name.
The driver of the landscaping truck stopped shortly after the collision and cooperated with investigators. At this time, police have not announced any charges. Officials stated that the investigation remains ongoing as they work to determine what led to the deadly crash.
