Bellmawr, NJ (November 11, 2025) – A deadly crash on Sunday, November 9, claimed the life of a 71-year-old man from Berlin and left two others injured in Camden County. The accident happened around 6:41 p.m. on Interstate 76 East, near milepost 0.1, according to New Jersey State Police.
Investigators said the man was driving a Kia SUV eastbound on I-76 with a 31-year-old passenger from Westville when a BMW, traveling in the same direction, struck the rear of the Kia. The impact caused severe damage to both vehicles and resulted in multiple injuries.
Emergency crews arrived quickly and provided aid at the scene. Sadly, the 71-year-old driver of the Kia was pronounced dead shortly after the collision. His passenger suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The BMW’s 33-year-old driver from Wenonah sustained minor injuries.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased driver, pending notification of family members. Troopers closed several lanes during the investigation, which extended for several hours on Sunday night.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
We extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and wish those injured a full and speedy recovery.
Car Accidents in New Jersey
Car accidents are among the leading causes of serious injuries and fatalities in New Jersey. High-traffic routes like Interstate 76 are especially dangerous due to frequent congestion, lane changes, and driver inattention. Even a momentary lapse in focus can lead to devastating consequences for everyone on the road.
According to the New Jersey Department of Transportation, thousands of car accidents occur each year on state highways, many involving rear-end collisions. These crashes are often caused by tailgating, distracted driving, or speeding—factors that can turn a routine drive into a tragedy.
Victims of serious crashes often face lasting consequences, including:
- Physical pain and long-term rehabilitation needs
- Emotional trauma and anxiety after the incident
- Financial hardship from medical bills and lost income
Families who lose a loved one in a fatal accident may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim. Such claims can help recover compensation for funeral expenses, medical costs, loss of companionship, and other damages.
When a fatal or serious accident occurs, it’s critical to have a knowledgeable wrongful death lawyer on your side. Legal professionals can help investigate the cause of the crash, gather evidence, and negotiate with insurance companies to ensure victims receive fair compensation.
