Getting checked out right after a crash in Allamuchy matters even when injuries seem minor at first. After a crash, adrenaline from a sudden collision can mask pain or symptoms that don't show up until hours or days later.
Injuries like concussions, whiplash, and soft tissue damage tend to take time to fully present themselves. Someone who feels fine at the scene may wake up the next morning with stiffness, headaches, or limited mobility that points to an injury the initial adrenaline rush had been covering up.
A prompt medical evaluation does more than address health concerns. It also creates a documented, time-stamped record connecting any injuries directly to the crash, which becomes important if those injuries turn out to be more serious than they first appeared.
Additionally, it is important to note that insurers can dispute gaps between the crash and the first medical visit to argue whether an injury was truly caused by the collision or was pre-existing.
Because New Jersey's verbal threshold rule usually requires meeting certain injury criteria before pursuing a claim for pain and suffering, a car accident lawyer can help someone injured in a crash understand how early medical records support that process.
At Metro Law, we work with people involved in car accidents across New Jersey to help them understand what their options are and how to proceed with the process. Our team can inspect your case and evaluate what your possible legal paths may be.
