Barnegat, NJ – Five Injured in School Bus Crash on Garden State Pkwy near Milepost 69.1

Barnegat, NJ (November 16, 2023) – Five individuals, including three students, suffered injuries after a school bus overturned in Barnegat Township. Reports from authorities show the school bus crashed at around 3:09 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, in the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway near milepost 69.1. 

Local sources report the school bus and a Lexus passenger vehicle collided while both headed south on the parkway. The Lexus left the roadway and drove up an embankment while the school bus overturned in the left lane of the road. Three students, the driver, and an aide were injured in the wreck. They were all transported to an area medical center for further evaluation and care. 

At this time, the crash remains under investigation by area authorities.
